Dates: Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th August 2022
Venue: The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK
Morning Sessions (10am – 1pm)
To start each day, one of our tutors will deliver a whole group warm-up to help focus energy in mind and body. These sessions will include some work with Dalcroze techniques, as well as covering important technical foundation skills on your instrument.
The morning will continue with masterclasses offering a chance to explore historical and contemporary repertoire in depth and to work on performance skills. Harpsichord/pianist Robin Bigwood will be available to accompany each day. Individual lessons will also be available.
Afternoon Sessions (2 – 5pm)
Afternoon sessions will focus on ensemble playing. These sessions will include working with RBC’s magnificent consort of renaissance recorders, as well as baroque and modern ensemble repertoire, and music with continuo.
Evening Sessions (7 – 8pm) – Tuesday and Wednesday only
On Tuesday evening, participants can enjoy a tutor concert where Annabel, Chris and Robin will perform some of their favourite solo and ensemble music. Wednesday evening will be an informal gathering where participants can entertain the rest of the group performing on another instrument, if they wish.
